What musical instrument am I?
Answer to last Wordless/ful Wednesday: Bassoon
The bassoon is a double reed woodwind instrument. The bassoon plays in concert, orchestral, and chamber music groups. Because of the difficult finger placements, the bassoon in not the easiest instrument to learn. Most children will learn clarinet or saxophone before they learn to play the bassoon. I'm definately bookmarking your blog! Thank you! At the moment I am setting up our music room as I am wanting my kids to explore music and the instruments. I am a classically trained pianist, but I have neglected this area with my kids. Next year we return to homeschooling and I am VERY excited!
Thank you for a great blog!
oh, I used this in elementary music!
I have no clue what it's called, but I'm with tiaras and tantrums, I know I got to use one in Elementary school music class. LOL
Oof, I'm failing these tests...horribly! I'll be looking for the answer.
OK... is it me or these getting harder? LOL I really have no idea this time! I want to say a maracca, but I know that is wrong.
So, my Red Rover has just started piano. He is having a tough time with timing--keeping the right pace and holding notes long enough. Is a metronome my best option. It is like he is overwhelmed with getting the song right, the rhythym right, and the pacing right all at once. Any suggestions???

I always learn something when I'm here...thanks!
So glad you'll be joining me in "My One Month"! Looking forward to reading your post.
The bassoon always reminds me of The Phone Call... Classic movie! :D
No idea on this one. I love this though!
It kind of looks like marracha's (is that how you spell it) but with holes. So I think I'm totally wrong. But I love playing!
You do have the coolest site. It is apparent you love what you do and your posts are so informative! You make music fun! I especially like how you use all types of tools on your site to teach the information.!!!
I love this - they have a great sound!
Ahhhh I seem to think it's a percussion instrument used in Latin rhythms, other than that. Criminy! Can't think of it.
