Andrea, everytime I check out your blog I am amazed by all the different things you come up with (within the musical theme). You are incredibly talented and fun.
ReplyDeleteLove ya, Kaer
P.S. We are both staying up way to late don't you think?
I have such happy memories of this song. I was in kindergarten when I learned it and I just LOVED it@
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Makes me sad my kiddos are growing so fast!
ReplyDeleteMy kids loved this one. In fact, any song with finger play turned out to be a favorite.
ReplyDeleteI remember singing this one when I was in nursery school! By the time my second child came around it was harder to manipulate my fingers for the song. I don't think he knows there are motions with the words.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of our favorites!
ReplyDeleteI love it when kids sing. Our youngest is now in fourth grade, and I just see it happening less and less. Thanks for sharing this rendition!
ReplyDeleteIn fact, a favorite memory from their time in school has to do with singing. For the Christmas concert for 2nd and 3rd graders, the music teacher would get "willing" parents to get up in front of everyone and sing a Christmas song. The first year, I thought we had to do it, so I went. After that, I went because it was just so much fun, and especially fun seeing the kids eyes light up when they saw their parents on stage singing. And I don't sing well...so this was a big step...especially considering we'd have maybe a total of 10-15 parents (out of about 150 kids or more). It was just a very fun and uplifting experience. One song, three practices, and then our "performance". One year I think we had about 8 people -- that felt like a solo in front of an auditorium of parents and kids! Scary!! But very cool...
What a great idea - I had forgotten all about this song; thanks for reminding me! I'll sing this to my baby as soon as he wakes up from his nap!
ReplyDeleteTwo of our children just started taking violin lessons. Their teacher uses this song to help them get their fingers placed properly on the strings.
ReplyDeleteKinda like this:
Where is 1 man, where is 1 man
Here I am, Here I am
Tap tap tap tap tap tap (in the right place on the right string)
etc. etc.
They love it!
