(Sorry, shoulda posted this last week.) We used to like to lift the lid and check it out. It is an upright piano and under the lid you can see a row of regular ole snaps dangling from a stretch of felt that runs the length of the piano. When you push the harpsichord lever, it just makes the coolest sound! Very similar to your youtube video above. Wish I had a picture to share! Fun posts--I like the what instrument am I day.CompleteLee Bloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09252998607344380891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7197943407061937734.post-6621062491672878562008-10-22T18:55:00.000-07:002008-10-22T18:55:00.000-07:00I am almost positive it is the soprano saxophone.I am almost positive it is the soprano saxophone.Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01561610754317073080noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7197943407061937734.post-42904408375357439222008-10-22T14:28:00.000-07:002008-10-22T14:28:00.000-07:00I do love the sax but the oboe is my fav.I do love the sax but the oboe is my fav.Wendelyn DeMosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02105099267177686164noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7197943407061937734.post-48213213783561772982008-10-22T13:18:00.000-07:002008-10-22T13:18:00.000-07:00THANK YOU for that YouTube video!! I keep skipping the difficult left-hand parts, but next time I get discouraged, I'll watch this and remember how cool those parts sound! Twinkle is one of my son's favorite songs, so he was willing to sit through a surprisingly large amount of the video.

This week's instrument is a soprano sax. The fortepiano was actually invented by a harpischord maker in the 18th century.
